Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking an Area Supervisor to lead a specific store area and oversee operations when acting as Manager on Duty. You will open/close the store, supervise associates, ensure safe shopping conditions, maintain merchandise presentation, and execute company processes with a customer-first mindset.

You will also train cashiers, manage front-end efficiency, and support loss prevention while upholding Ross standards and dress code. Evening and weekend availability required.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe and secure store environment.
• Supervise store operations as Manager on Duty.
• Train and coach Associates on cash registers and POS procedures.
• Ensure merchandise presentation and store cleanliness meet standards.
• Support loss prevention and front-end operations as needed.
• Assist with administrative duties as assigned by Store Manager.
