Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking an Area Supervisor to oversee a specific area of the store and assist in store operations when acting as Manager on Duty. Responsibilities include opening/closing, supervising Associates, and ensuring a friendly, easy-to-shop environment.

Focus is on safe, secure conditions, customer service, and proper merchandising. The role requires leadership in loss prevention, front-end oversight, and administrative duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and secure shopping environment; reports unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
• Trains and coaches Associates on cash registers, shortage control policies and Front End procedures.
• Ensures proper merchandising and clean, organized stockrooms in assigned area.
• Oversees Front End supervision to maintain pace and minimize customer wait times.
• Supports loss prevention by maintaining a strong customer service presence and awareness.
• Performs Administrative Duties as assigned by Store Manager.
