Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking an Area Supervisor to lead a defined store area and oversee daily operations as the Manager on Duty. You will supervise Associates, open/close the store, and ensure safe, friendly shopping. You will enforce merchandising standards and support loss prevention initiatives.

The role requires strong customer service skills, supervisory experience, and fluency in English. Evening and weekend availability is expected.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and secure shopping environment; ensures proper merchandise presentation and clean work areas.
• Trains and coaches Associates on cash registers and front-end procedures; manages break schedules.
• Ensures stockrooms are organized, items are properly signed, tagged and scanned.
• Oversees loss prevention awareness and follows company best practices to maximize productivity.
• Executes front-end supervision, maintains pace, and expedites customer lines.
• Performs administrative duties as assigned by Store Manager.
