Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking an Area Supervisor to lead a specific store area and oversee daily operations as Store Manager on Duty. You will open and close the store, supervise team members, ensure merchandise presentation, and maintain a clean, welcoming shopping environment.

You will also enforce company policies, drive loss prevention, manage front-end performance, and coach Associates on cash handling, training, and safety procedures. This role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store and supervise Associates.
• Maintain a friendly, easy to shop environment.
• Ensure proper merchandise presentation and a clean work area.
• Execute Company operational processes as needed.
• Train and coach Associates on cash registers and policies.
• Control break schedules and ensure equipment works.
• Oversee stockroom cleanliness and back stock merchandising.
• Manage front end operations to reduce wait times.
• Ensure safety and loss prevention procedures.
