Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking an Area Supervisor to lead a designated store area and supervise Associates while ensuring a friendly, easy-to-shop environment. The role covers opening/closing duties, merchandise presentation, loss prevention, and frontline operations in a fast-paced retail setting.

The Area Supervisor will model Ross leadership, train staff on POS and front-end processes, and support payroll and administrative tasks under Store Manager direction.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and secure shopping environment and adheres to safety procedures.
• Supervises Associates and supports Store Manager during operations.
• Opens and closes the Store and ensures merchandise presentation meets standards.
• Trains and coaches staff on cash registers, shortages, and front-end procedures.
• Manages payroll-related tasks and administrative duties as assigned.
