Job summary

Ross Stores in Maryland seeks an Area Supervisor to lead a specified Store area and oversee general operations when acting as Manager on Duty. You will be responsible for opening/closing, supervising Associates, and maintaining an inviting, well-merchandised store environment.

The role focuses on executing company processes, maintaining safety, delivering strong customer service, and supporting merchandising standards while collaborating with the leadership team.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store and supervise associates as Manager on Duty.
• Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment and address unsafe conditions.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service and recognize associates using company programs.
• Oversee daily merchandising, stockroom organization, and back-stock processing.
• Ensure front-end operations run smoothly, including cashier training and line management.
• Manage payroll-related tasks for store personnel as assigned by Store Manager.
