Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking an Area Supervisor to lead a defined store area and oversee daily operations as Manager on Duty. The role includes opening/closing, supervising associates, ensuring a safe, friendly shopping environment, and maintaining merchandising standards.

You will drive front-end efficiency, train staff on POS use, manage payroll and scheduling, and uphold loss prevention practices in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills required.
• Fluency in English required.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations used in retail.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store and supervise associates as Manager on Duty.
• Maintain safe, secure and inviting store environments.
• Ensure proper merchandise presentation and cleanliness.
• Lead front-end operations and drive sales floor efficiency.
• Support loss prevention practices and security measures.
• Train and coach associates on cash handling and register procedures.
• Assist with payroll, scheduling and administrative duties.
