Job summary

The Area Supervisor at Ross Stores is a member of the Store Leadership team responsible for a specific area of the store and for supervising operations when on duty. You will open and close the store, lead Associates, and ensure a friendly, easy to shop environment with strong merchandising standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety, executing Company Best Practices, coaching cashiers, managing front-end activity, payroll administration, and ensuring loss prevention measures.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store as assigned and supervise associates.
• Ensure proper merchandise presentation and a clean, easy-to-shop environment.
• Execute and supervise store operational processes.
• Lead front-end supervision, manage line pace and customer wait times.
• Coach associates on cash registers and shortage control policies.
• Perform payroll administration and scheduling duties as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by Store Manager.
