Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking an Area Supervisor to lead a defined store area and supervise operations as the Manager on Duty. You will open and close the store, supervise associates, ensure a friendly, easy to shop environment, and maintain presentation standards across departments.

The role emphasizes safety, customer service, loss prevention, and adherence to company processes while developing talent and supporting store goals. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and secure shopping environment on the sales floor.
• Supervises Associates and ensures proper merchandise presentation.
• Opens and closes the store when acting as Manager on Duty.
• Executes company operational processes.
• Trains and coaches associates on cash registers and loss prevention procedures.
• Controls break schedules and ensures equipment works.
• Manages back stock and stockroom organization.
• Ensures floor moves and promotional signing.
