Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking an Area Supervisor to lead a specific store area and support store operations while acting as Manager on Duty. This role includes opening/closing the store, supervising Associates, and ensuring a friendly, easy to shop environment with proper merchandise presentation and clean work areas.

Responsibilities also include risk management, ensuring safety, loss prevention, and executing company processes as needed to maintain Ross standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills and English fluency are required.
• Previous customer service and supervisory experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications is expected.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations used in retail operations.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by store needs.

Responsibilities

• Maintains safe and secure environments on the sales floor and back areas.
• Opens and closes the store and supervises Associates when on duty.
• Delivers friendly, professional customer service and supports the Ross Brand.
• Manages merchandising standards, stockroom organization and floor replenishment.
• Oversees loss prevention practices and daily cash handling procedures.
• Trains and coaches Associates on front-end procedures and customer service.
• Monitors productivity and ensures compliance with company best practices.
