Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking an Area Supervisor who will manage an assigned store area and assist in store operations as Manager on Duty. This role includes opening/closing the store, supervising associates, and ensuring friendly, easy-to-shop environments with proper merchandise presentation.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety, enforcing processes, front-end supervision, back stock control, and collaboration with Store Leadership to optimize daily performance.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills and professional demeanor.
• Fluency in English required for customer and team interactions.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations common in retail settings.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee assigned area and store operations as needed.
• Open and close the store and supervise associates.
• Maintain clean, well-merchandised, safe shopping environment.
• Enforce company operational processes and loss prevention practices.
• Support front-end operations and cashier procedures to improve efficiency.
• Assist in stockroom management, merchandising and back stock control.
