Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking an Area Supervisor to lead a defined store area and assist with overall store operations as the Manager on Duty when needed. You will supervise Associates, ensure a clean, well-presented environment, and uphold company standards.

Key responsibilities include opening/closing the store, maintaining merchandise presentation, and executing company processes while delivering strong customer service and loss prevention practices.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment; monitor store operations.
• Open and close the store; supervise Associates; act as Manager on Duty when required.
• Ensure proper merchandise presentation and clean work areas.
• Train, coach, and supervise Associates on front-end procedures and loss prevention.
• Maintain cash handling, payroll, and administrative duties as assigned by Store Manager.
• Execute monthly presentation guidelines; manage stockrooms and back stock.
• Assist with front-end operations to minimize customer wait times and improve service quality.
• Oversee merchandising and loss prevention practices to reduce shrink.
