Job summary

Amazon in Columbus, NE is hiring for an Area Manager in our Operations network. This is a full-time on-site role in a fulfillment/operations setting, leading a team of 50–100 hourly associates to meet safety, quality and productivity goals.

You will mentor staff, manage shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays as needed), and ensure smooth operations on the floor with hands-on leadership and daily coaching.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in or current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering).
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience leading teams and delivering customer-focused results.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and motivate 50–100 direct report associates.
• Work on-site in a fast-paced warehouse environment with daily shifts.
• Oversee deliveries, package handling, and pallet jack/PIT equipment usage.
• Adapt staffing and resources to volume and business needs while ensuring safety and quality.
• Coach teams, communicate with leadership, and remove roadblocks to meet goals.
• Wrap up shifts with clear handoffs and performance notes.
