Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking an Area Supervisor to lead a specific store area and oversee general operations when acting as Manager on Duty. Responsibilities include opening/closing the store, supervising Associates, ensuring proper merchandising, and maintaining a safe, clean environment.

The role requires supervising staff, maintaining brand standards, and executing company processes across merchandising, Front End, and stockroom areas while upholding loss-prevention practices.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment and correct unsafe conditions.
• Open and close the store and supervise Associates as needed.
• Ensure proper merchandising presentation and clean work areas.
• Train and coach Associates on cash registers, shortage control policies, and Front End procedures.
• Manage Front End operations to maintain pace and reduce customer wait times.
• Assist with payroll administration and other Administrative duties as assigned.
• Support Loss Prevention programs and protect confidential information.
