Republic Services seeks an Area Director, Business Development to shape market strategies and lead strategic development across North American markets. The role collaborates with Area, Market, and Corporate teams to drive acquisitions, privatizations, and organic growth while managing complex projects from due diligence to integration.

Qualifications

• Experience in strategy, project, infrastructure and/or real estate development.
• Minimum of 5 years of general business experience, preferably in a capital intensive industry.
• Ability to read, interpret, and prepare financial reports.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to gain respect from internal and external customers while maintaining an independent and objective perspective.

Responsibilities

• Develops and drives market strategies to improve financial performance of markets.
• Coordinates with Sales and Revenue Management to ensure execution of action plans.
• Evaluates business justification for development of new solid waste infrastructure projects.
• Leads and motivates internal and external teams to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Oversees real estate transactions.
