Job summary

Mechanics Bank is seeking an Area Operations Manager to lead a hub of branch operations on-site in California. You will supervise operations staff, manage risk and compliance, and drive branch performance across multiple locations within the area.

You will collaborate with sales management to support customer needs, oversee budgeting and staffing, and coach branch leaders to deliver exemplary service while maintaining regulatory standards. Travel 10-20% is required.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 7 years banking operations experience.
• 3 years management experience required.

Responsibilities

• Manages a Retail Branch office as well as a designated group of branches and is responsible for overall performance including operational and service goals.
• Develops and executes branch and area strategic plan including customer retention, employee development and retention, succession planning, branch efficiency, and operational soundness.
• Coaches staff for improved performance, conducts performance reviews and develops individual performance goals.
• Hires and develops quality staff ensuring proper skills and staffing levels to ensure the highest level of customer service.
• Manages budgeting and forecasting for the branch.
• Leads the implementation of new programs, products and processes within the branch.
• Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision making.
