Job summary

Worley Group, Inc. seeks a skilled welder assistant for a remote Arctic project in Alaska. The role supports journeymen and requires setup, fit-up, and welding prep in challenging conditions on a one-year assignment with an estimated 84-hour week.

The position includes meals and lodging on location, transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay, and a comprehensive benefits package. Start is Oct/Nov 2026; travel and rotation are essential components.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• NSTC certification training is available or required.
• Graduate of Alaska secondary trade school is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies.
• Prepare surfaces for welding and ensure cleanliness.
• Set up and adjust welding machines; detect equipment faults and report them.
• Operate cutting equipment for ACC, plasma, and oxy-fuel procedures.
• Assist with slag removal and beveling of metal plates.
• Cut, contour, and bevel metal to blueprints and work orders.
• Mark material with job numbers and pieces for traceability.
• Perform housekeeping and maintain records for the job.
• Operate shields metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
• Conduct fire watch/hole watch or heater attendant duties.
