Job summary

ECS Southwest, LLP is seeking an experienced Specification Writer to join our Southwest Facilities team in San Antonio, TX. You will guide design teams on product selection, prepare and edit construction specifications, and coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants through all project phases.

This role favors detail-oriented professionals with a solid architecture/construction background. The position emphasizes staying current on building technologies and industry trends,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Science or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of related architectural or commercial interiors experience.
• Minimum 3 years of increased responsibility writing, editing, and developing AIA MasterFormat - 3 part specifications.
• CSI membership; CDT certification is a plus; CCS, LEED AP, or licensed Architect/Engineer are bonuses.
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS subsidiary.

Responsibilities

• Guide design teams on product selection and prepare/edit construction specifications.
• Review drawings and project information to write specifications and ensure code compliance.
• Plan, schedule, and prepare construction specifications for project milestones.
• Coordinate with consultants to ensure conformance with firm standards and project manuals.
• Engage in product research and assist designers with material choices.
• Collaborate with internal architects and engineering disciplines on specifications.
• Stay current on building technologies, codes, and industry trends.
