Job summary

ECS Group of Companies (ECS) seeks an experienced Specification Writer to join the Southwest Facilities team in Dallas, TX. You will guide design teams on product selection, prepare and edit construction specifications, and coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants through all project phases.

The role requires strong technical expertise in specifications writing, experience with AIA MasterFormat, and a passion for staying current on building technologies and industry trends.

Qualifications

• 6 years of architectural/commercial interiors experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology or related field preferred.
• CSI membership; CDT certification a plus; CCS/LEED AP or licensed professional a plus.

Responsibilities

• Guide design teams on product selection and design considerations.
• Write and edit specifications; coordinate with codes, standards and project requirements.
• Prepare Division 01 General Requirements and project manual sections.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers and consultants through all phases.
• Research products, materials and submittals; assess substitutions.
• Ensure adherence to firm standards and formatting conventions.
• Attend client discussions and support project documentation.
• Stay current on building technology and industry trends.
