Job summary

The Pittsburgh Paint Company is actively seeking a Manufacturer's Representative for our Southern California market. This remote role covers Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego, reporting to the Specification Area Manager.

You will drive specifications, build relationships with architects, designers and contractors, and lead color scheduling discussions for new and renovated commercial projects. Required are 5 years in outside sales, a high school diploma and strong presentation skills,

Qualifications

• 5 years minimum experience in outside sales.
• High School Diploma required.
• Interior Design Degree or equivalent experience to influence Architectural Specifications.
• Strong presentation skills and proficiency in front of various audiences is a must.
• Proficiency with Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop, and web-based applications (Construct Connect, BSD, AVITRU, BIM/REVIT); CRM experience.

Responsibilities

• Focus is primarily on new construction but will include existing building renovations as a mix.
• Project tracking and planning, communicating plan, allocating tasks and setting milestones is key.
• Call on firms who influence specifications for commercial businesses, building/office space, retail, hotels, resorts etc.
• Build and develop relationships with firms/customers to establish the relationship with PPC and influence project specifications.
• Address both product systems on the technical side and color schedules on the design side with engineers and interior designers.
• Travel within territory with at least 2 overnight stays per week to support long sales cycles.
