Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Columbus, OH invites applications for an Arborist Trainee Internship starting in Spring-Summer 2027. You’ll work in the field alongside experienced arborists, gaining hands-on experience in pruning, removal, cabling, and plant health care, with safety and client service as core priorities.

Hours are 40–50 per week, Monday–Friday with some Saturdays; compensation is $22–$23 per hour.

Qualifications

• Studying arboriculture or related field; enthusiasm for tree care and growth.
• Driver's license required; CDL a plus.
• Interest in field-based internship and safety.

Responsibilities

• Learn tree pruning, removal, cabling and maintenance.
• Assist with tree and landscape installation.
• Operate equipment safely (chainsaws, chippers, etc.).
• Engage in plant health care activities and landscape care.
• Support client service and team leadership fundamentals.
