Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking an Arborist Trainee Intern for a Canton, OH field-based role. Grow your skills in pruning, cabling, planting, and plant health care while working with seasoned arborists and landscape professionals.

In this internship, expect 40–50 hours per week (Mon–Fri, some Saturdays) with a hourly rate of $22–$23. This on-site opportunity begins Spring–Summer 2027 and offers hands-on training with safety-first practices.

Qualifications

• Studying Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Natural Resources, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry or related discipline
• Enthusiasm for proper plant care and arboriculture
• Willingness to learn and be punctual
• Collaborative and communicative team player

Responsibilities

• Learn to be a tree professional by working in the field with experienced Arborists and Landscape specialists
• Perform tree pruning, removal, cabling, bracing, and general maintenance
• Operate equipment safely (chainsaws, chippers, etc.) and support Plant Health Care tasks
• Support client service, sales, and project management fundamentals
