The Davey Tree Expert Company in Woodstock, VT is offering an Arborist Trainee Internship starting Spring-Summer 2027. This field-based program invites you to learn alongside experienced Arborists, Climbers and Plant Health Care professionals in a hands-on environment.

Interns will gain exposure to pruning, cabling, planting, equipment operation, and plant health care, while building client service and sales skills. Flexible 40-50 hour weeks, with some Saturdays, salaries $22-$23 per hour.

Qualifications

• Studying Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Natural Resources, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry or related discipline.
• Driver’s license required; Commercial driver’s license a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn to be a tree doctor; work with Arborists and Plant Health Care teams to deliver client service and maintain tree health.
• Tree pruning, removal, cabling, bracing and maintenance.
• Tree and landscape installation.
• Safe operation of equipment including chainsaws, chippers and other field tools.
• Plant health care, including deep root fertilization, soil care and pest/disease management.
• Support daily operations, and develop client service, sales and leadership fundamentals.
