Job summary
The Davey Tree Expert Company invites applications for an Arborist Trainee Internship in Chantilly, VA. This on-site program offers hands-on field experience alongside seasoned arborists, climbers, and plant health care professionals.
Interns will work 40–50 hours per week, Monday through Friday with some Saturdays, earning $22–$23 per hour. The program runs in Spring–Summer 2027, with opportunities for growth and hands-on safety training and gear.
Qualifications
- Must be currently studying arboriculture, urban forestry, natural resources, horticulture, landscape design, forestry or related discipline.
- Driver's license required; commercial driver’s license a plus.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for proper plant care and arboriculture.
- Love of the outdoors and reliable attendance.
Responsibilities
- Learn tree care practices in the field, including pruning, removal, cabling, bracing and maintenance.
- Assist with tree and landscape installation and safe equipment operation.
- Support Plant Health Care activities and daily field operations.
