Job summary

HB Staffing in Fountain Valley, CA is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a growing financial team. The role is full-time and contract-based, working Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

You will handle payments by multiple methods and collaborate with the Controller to keep receivables accurate and timely. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of AR experience, strong Excel skills, and experience with ERP software.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Accounts Receivable, cash application, or general accounting experience.
• Experience processing payments across multiple methods (check, ACH, wire, credit card).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite is required.
• Experience with ERP or accounting software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Post and apply customer payments received via check, ACH, wire transfer, and credit card.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies, including unapplied cash, short payments, and billing issues.
• Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
• Perform collections activities professionally while maintaining positive customer relationships.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices, account balances, payment status, and disputes.
• Upload invoices to customer payment portals and manage portal accounts.
• Maintain organized documentation and support month-end close activities.
• Partner with the Controller and accounting team to ensure timely, accurate receivables.
