SCIENTIFIC APPLICATIONS & RESEARCH ASSOCIATES, INC. (SARA) is seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk to support our Cypress, CA or Colorado Springs, CO locations.

This role focuses on project billing, revenue entries, and contract cost analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting. You will work with project managers, prepare invoices, monitor cash receipts, and assist with collections while upholding GAAP and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or 2–4 years of accounting-related work.
• Understanding of US GAAP.
• Research and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks with strong organization.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Teams, Word, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to type 35 WPM or greater.
• US Citizenship with ability to obtain DoD security clearance.
• May require light physical effort up to 15 pounds.
• Indoor, quiet, well-lit and well-ventilated work environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist entering projects in Accounting System based on Billing and Revenue requirements.
• Enter and maintain contract Revenue and Billing formulas into Accounting System.
• Review new contract billing requirements to ensure each customer’s standards are met prior to submission.
• Review Bills for accuracy and completeness.
• Review contract costs to assist project management review.
• Communicate with project managers and Contracts in multiple locations regarding funding limitations.
• Build relationships with customers.
• Assist with Collections.
• Filing and maintaining Accounting records.
• Process Cash Receipts.
• Other accounting projects as assigned.
