Job summary

Vaco by Highspring in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an Accounts Receivable Assistant for a contract-to-hire, 100% on-site role. Typical hours are 7:30 AM–4:30 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with a pay rate of $21.00–$22.00 per hour.

The role supports invoicing, cash application, chargebacks, and customer account maintenance within a fast-paced AR team. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of AR experience, proficiency in Excel, and familiarity with Unix or similar ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Accounts Receivable experience.
• Experience with cash application and payment processing.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial transactions.
• Ability to research and resolve payment discrepancies and chargebacks.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve remittance information from customer emails, portals, and other sources.
• Verify customer payments and accurately process cash receipts.
• Apply payments within the accounting system (Unix).
• Balance and reconcile payments to ensure accuracy.
• Review cash reports and bank balances to validate transactions and reconciliations.
• Identify, research, and code chargebacks and deductions using the appropriate deduction codes and invoice references.
• Manage daily invoicing and billing activities.
• Distribute invoices via email and mail as required.
• Process NET payment application requests.
• Handle specialized invoicing for international customers.
• Manage an AR portfolio focused on overcharge rebate accounts.
• Monitor customer accounts and support chargeback and invoice management activities.
• Assist with collections-related account maintenance as needed.
• Process and verify daily check and wire deposits.
• Scan, index, and maintain electronic documents per retention rules.
• Provide front desk coverage and AR team support.
