American Roofing & Waterproofing is seeking an Accounts Receivable / Payable Specialist to join our finance team in our central Phoenix office. This full-time role handles invoices, reconciliations, and reporting to support cash flow and financial health.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance and at least 3 years in AR/AP, with strong Excel skills and confidentiality. Remote work is not offered; applicants should be ready for on-site collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• At least 3 years in accounts receivable/payable or similar financial role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial analysis.
• Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Experience reporting to an Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities

• Process and verify incoming invoices for goods and services.
• Maintain records of all accounts receivable and payable transactions.
• Prepare and issue invoices and manage collections to ensure timely payments.
• Coordinate with departments to resolve billing disputes and discrepancies.
• Perform daily reconciliations of ledger accounts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for receivables and payables.
• Assist with audits and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Recommend improvements to processes and procedures to increase efficiency.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams professionally.
• Assist Accounting Manager in developing reports and projecting cash flow.
• Implement electronic systems for invoices and payments.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable financial rules and regulations.
