Job summary

Jobot in White Marsh, MD, is hiring a Staff Accountant – Accounts Receivable to support AIA and construction billing, collections, and month-end close. You will work under the Billing Manager and collaborate across teams on reporting and reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years AR and collections experience.
• Experience with billing, collections, and customer accounts.
• Strong reconciliations and discrepancy resolution.
• Experience with AIA/construction billing preferred.
• Construction industry experience preferred.
• Excel proficiency required.
• Sage and Salesforce experience preferred.
• Experience in multi-location organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with customer billing under the direction of the Billing Manager.
• Support AIA and construction billing processes.
• Conduct collections follow-up on outstanding balances.
• Research customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Communicate findings and payment status to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Assist month-end close activities and financial reporting.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve account variances.
• Support audit requests and prepare schedules and documentation.
• Explain transaction history and activity as needed.
• Assist leadership with special projects and reporting initiatives.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Assist with customer billing activities under the direction of the Billing Manager
• Support AIA and construction billing processes
• Conduct collections follow-up on outstanding customer balances
• Research customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies
• Communicate account findings and payment status to customers and internal stakeholders
• Assist with month-end close activities and financial reporting
• Perform monthly account reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve account variances
• Support internal and external audit requestsPrepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
• Explain transaction history and account activity as needed
• Assist senior leadership with special projects and reporting initiatives
• Utilize Sage, Salesforce, and Excel to support daily accounting operations

Qualifications Needed

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum 3 years of Accounts Receivable and Collections experience
• Experience supporting billing, collections, and customer account management functions
• Strong background in account reconciliations and payment discrepancy resolution
• Experience with AIA billing and/or construction billing highly preferred
• Construction, modular construction, contracting, or project-based industry experience preferred
• Excel proficiency required
• Experience with Sage and/or Salesforce preferred
• Experience working within a multi-location or multi-branch organization preferred
• Proven ability to investigate customer account issues and resolve discrepancies
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to assist with month-end close and financial reporting activities
