Job summary

Jobot, a Leading Electrical Construction firm in California, seeks a Project Accountant to support AIA progress billings, AR, collections, and lien releases in a construction environment.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, 3+ years of construction accounting, and hands-on AIA billing experience, with strong Excel and ERP skills (COINS, Sage, Vista).

• Hands-on experience with AIA progress billings required.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with COINS, Sage, Vista or similar ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process AIA progress billings, T&M billings, and change orders.
• Ensure billings align with contract terms, schedules of values, and approvals.
• Monitor AR aging and support collections and dispute resolution.
• Apply cash receipts and resolve unapplied or short payments.
• Prepare, issue, and track lien releases (conditional and unconditional).
• Support month-end close, AR reconciliations, and WIP reporting.

Job Details

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support AIA progress billings, accounts receivable, collections, and lien releases in a construction environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and process AIA progress billings, T&M billings, and change orders.
• Ensure billings align with contract terms, schedules of values, and approvals.
• Monitor AR aging and support collections and dispute resolution.
• Apply cash receipts and resolve unapplied or short payments.
• Prepare, issue, and track conditional and unconditional lien releases.
• Support month-end close, AR reconciliations, and WIP reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred).
• 3+ years of construction accounting experience required.
• Hands-on experience with AIA progress billings required.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with construction or project-based ERP systems (COINS, Sage, Vista, etc.).
