Zusammenfassung

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Aquatics Lead to provide leadership and ensure safe swimming conditions in the pool areas, decks and surrounding spaces. You will supervise lifeguards and swim instructors, coordinate schedules, enforce safety rules and maintain records in accordance with YMCA standards.

This role requires strong supervision, incident reporting, staff trainings, and collaboration with the Aquatics Director to deliver safe, engaging programming for members.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum age of 20 years.
• Two to three years related experience, preferred.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Life Guard skills per YMCA policies.
• Current YMCA Life Guard certification and obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Current or must obtain YMCA Swim Instructor certification.
• Must obtain ASHI CPR/First Aid and related training before first shift.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups.

Aufgaben

• Provide Leadership and supervise lifeguards and swim instructors.
• Enforce safety rules and testing procedures in pool areas.
• Maintain pool and deck cleanliness; manage chemicals and equipment.
• Open/close procedures, daily checks, and incident documentation.
• Coordinate lifeguard and instructor schedules; manage substitutions.
• Assist with staff trainings and meetings; support compliance requirements.
• Report incidents and safety concerns to Aquatics Director.
