SimVentions, Inc. is seeking an Applied Mathematician or Applied Physicist for the NSWCDD Dahlgren program in Dahlgren, VA. The role focuses on designing test plans, developing automated test scripts, and executing tests across levels, with daily customer interaction on-site.

A BS in applied math or physics and 1+ year of software/test experience are required, plus ability to work with DOORS, Jira, and Linux in a team setting. U.S. Citizenship and an Active Secret Clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional applied math or applied physics experience in engineering projects.
• 1+ years of software/testing experience or related education; can be concurrent with math/physics work.
• Familiarity reviewing C++ code and using Linux systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to customers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Write detailed test plans, test descriptions, and test cases tied to requirements.
• Execute manual and automated testing (static, dynamic, integration, system-level).
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS, Jira, and other tools.
• Identify, document, and track software defects; collaborate with developers for rapid resolution.
• Review peers' test documentation and provide constructive feedback.
• Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and CCB activities.
• Interface directly with government customers daily; occasionally present testing documentation.
