Capital District Physicians’ Health Plan, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Applications Development to lead a team of 5–10 IT professionals responsible for building new applications and maintaining production systems.

You will partner with business stakeholders to align technology with processes, goals, and strategic plans, ensuring uptime and timely responses to service requests. The role drives planning, architecture assessment, and delivery of strategic technical solutions across the application

Qualifications

• Five years of related work experience, with at least two years in staff management.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or relevant field; or six years of related experience in lieu.
• Ability to handle competing priorities and high customer expectations.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in project planning and project management.
• Experience leading technical staff.
• Knowledge of structured systems analysis, data gathering, and MIS.
• Knowledge of programming languages.
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall SDLCs.

Responsabilités

• Oversee IT-related aspects of a defined portfolio of applications.
• Governance of the Enterprise Software Development Life Cycle (eSDLC) within the team.
• Act as IT Product Owner, driving platform currency and remediation efforts.
• Review backlog items with stakeholders and clarify intent.
• Improve process efficiency and output within the department.
• Oversee production support activities, including change and incident management, and on-call scheduling.
• Provide leadership and sponsorship of corporate strategic projects to meet objectives.
• Manage multiple priorities across project, maintenance, and production support work.
• Serve as vendor relations contact for third-party platforms.
• Foster continuous improvement with metrics, standards, and governance controls.
