Job summary

GWS Tool Group in New York area seeks an Applications Specialist focused on Solid Round and Insert Cutting Tools. You will manage accounts, generate new opportunities, and educate customers, prospects, and distributors on product capabilities.

The role requires strong metalworking knowledge, effective communication with customers and internal teams, and ongoing updates on pricing, launches, and competitive offerings. Some travel and face-to-face meetings are expected.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years manufacturing experience with milling, turning, grooving
• Knowledgeable in tooling and manufacturing process
• Assist customers with processing parts and applying tools
• Job shop experience valued
• Assisting customers with speeds and feeds
• Experience designing special tools
• Experience processing customer parts from drawing to finished product
• Account management for current customers
• Proven ability to develop new customers is ideal
• Degree in sales/marketing is highly regarded

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments and meet with customers to review applications and requirements
• Plan and conduct sales presentations with customers daily
• Liaise on pricing, service, and product launches
• Develop prospect accounts to increase revenue via distribution partners
• Update customers on product changes and enhancements
• Attend training meetings to stay informed about products and procedures
• Maintain professionalism and company image in all interactions
• Attend conferences and trade shows as needed
• Use sales tools to maximize effectiveness
• Organize joint calls with distributors and prepare customer reports
• Provide quotes with inside sales support
• Follow up leads with detailed customer information and actions
