Oakland, CA - Mostly Remote
6 Months - Temp to Perm

LOCALITY PREFERENCE: Preference is Bay Area, then Service Territory, and the onshore.
HYBRID: The current team is remote, but occasionally meet in Oakland or San Ramon

Skills Required: Oracle and Linux, Bash Scripting and Python, PL exttt{SQL}, Requesting information from the Oracle Database running on Linux, Application Support, Utilities (desired but not required).

SUMMARY

The Career IT Application Operations Analyst conducts basic and intermediate tasks under the direction of a more senior analyst, following Work Instructions and processes in Run Books and Playbooks. Applies technical skills to resolve application and data problems, escalating complex issues to senior staff. Responsible for scoping work and developing solutions within established frameworks.

JOB DUTIES

1. Analyze existing Smart Meter application interfaces and tools, prepare logical models, create SQL code and scripts, and test/debug interfaces.
2. Diagnose, isolate, and correct data and performance faults.
3. Prepare and obtain approval for system and development documentation.
4. Perform corrective maintenance to sustain system operations.
5. Debug and diagnose bugs, incidents, and exceptions in applications and processes.
6. Identify and correct discrepancies in Smart Meter system data.
7. Interact with users, stakeholders, and team members to report progress.
8. Execute quality control tasks as directed.
9. Oversee 24-hour clock package processing to ensure timely bill delivery.
10. Support and recommend solutions for failed processing related to billing packages.
11. Develop conversion and implementation plans.
12. Assist in defining, developing, and documenting system requirements and specifications.
13. Propose process and tool enhancements based on experience.
14. Communicate professionally and clearly, including with suppliers and contractors as needed.

KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

• Familiarity with Linux servers, networks, backups, and Oracle databases.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work across departments, analyze problems, and troubleshoot.
• Independent and team work capabilities.

REQUIREMENTS

BA/BS in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience; 5+ years in designing, deploying, troubleshooting applications and infrastructure; experience with large-scale infrastructure-application systems.
