Job summary

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work, training, or education.
• Strong hands-on experience with AppDynamics and Splunk for monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication, including with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Monitor application performance and availability using AppDynamics and Splunk.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve performance issues and incidents.
• Analyze metrics, logs, and monitoring data to identify trends and root causes.
• Create dashboards and monitoring solutions to improve visibility into application health.
• Partner with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to improve reliability and performance.
• Support automation initiatives and scripting to enhance monitoring.

Role Overview

This Software Engineer role focuses on application monitoring, observability, and operational excellence within a large enterprise environment. The engineer will leverage AppDynamics and Splunk to monitor application health, identify performance issues, analyze trends, and support technology teams in maintaining highly available and performant applications. The ideal candidate is a strong individual contributor with hands‑on monitoring expertise who can effectively communicate findings to both technical and leadership audiences. This role requires operational discipline, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting complex enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor application performance and availability using AppDynamics and Splunk.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application performance issues and operational incidents.
• Analyze performance metrics, logs, and monitoring data to identify trends and root causes.
• Create dashboards, reports, and monitoring solutions that improve visibility into application health.
• Partner with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to improve application reliability and performance.
• Support automation initiatives and operational improvements through scripting and monitoring enhancements.
• Communicate findings, recommendations, and risks to technical teams and leadership.
• Assist with capacity planning, performance optimization, and operational readiness activities.
• Leverage ServiceNow (SNOW) for incident, change, and operational support activities.
• Support enterprise monitoring standards and contribute to observability best practices.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, or education.

Technical Skills: Strong hands‑on experience in AppDynamics Application Performance Monitoring and Splunk for monitoring, log analysis, troubleshooting, and operational support.

Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Scripting experience with Python or other automation languages.
• Exposure to AI technologies and AI-enabled operational solutions.
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Selenium.
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools like Power BI or Tableau.
• Experience supporting Mainframe technologies and enterprise-scale environments.
• Ability to operate effectively in a geographically dispersed organization.
• Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
