Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking an Application Delivery Technical Lead to provide technical guidance to software engineers and lead complex enterprise software projects.

The role combines architecture, mentoring, and hands-on coding to deliver solutions aligned with IT standards. The candidate will collaborate with architects, developers, and business users to translate requirements into scalable software modules and maintainable code, while ensuring compliance and quality throughout

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience in database technologies.
• 5 years of SDLC experience.
• 3 years of systems analysis experience.
• Experience in RPG, Java, SQL, Angular and API design/implementation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation on business requirements and functional specifications.
• Review and guide development of complex enterprise software solutions.
• Lead design and delivery with a 50/50 split between architecture/mentorship and hands-on coding.
• Develop and validate software designs; ensure adherence to architecture standards.
• Mentor team members and communicate options, risks and benefits of designs.
