Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an Application Delivery Technical Lead to guide software engineers, align delivery with IT standards, and deliver enterprise solutions. You will design, code, and mentor across teams while collaborating with architects and business users to resolve complex problems.

The role emphasizes hands-on delivery, architectural guidance, and ensuring project success within a large logistics IT environment. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience in database technologies.
• 5 years of SDLC experience.
• 3 years of systems analysis including high level design.
• Experience with RPG, Java, SQL, Angular and APIs design.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation on business requirements and functional specs.
• Review development of enterprise software solutions.
• Lead design, mentorship and hands-on delivery of code (50/50).
• Develop and validate complex software design prototypes.
• Contribute to technical direction for integrated solutions.
• Document requirements, design, and test scripts for enhancements.
• Manage code implementation to production per policy.
• Serve as technical lead for project teams monitoring architecture standards.
• Mentor others and share methodologies.
