Job summary

Groundswell is seeking an experienced Appian Test Engineering Lead to drive web-based application testing with automation expertise. You will shape QA strategy, design test environments, and mentor a testing team in a hybrid/remote setup, with emphasis on Appian and related low-code testing frameworks.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years of software testing, and 2+ years of automation testing, plus ability to obtain government security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
• 5+ years of software testing experience with cross-functional teams.
• 2+ years of automation testing experience.
• Experience leading a team and mentoring junior members.
• Experience interpreting requirements, writing QA documentation and UAT/test plans.
• Knowledge of Test Management, automation toolsets and processes.
• Knowledge of Performance Testing processes and cadence.
• Proficiency with Playwright and Selenium.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in remote/hybrid teams.
• U.S. citizen per contract requirements; ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the overall QA program design and implementation.
• Lead the development of test strategy, environment design, and test data.
• Hire, train, and mentor testing team members.
• Plan, execute, and report on software development and maintenance testing.
• Review and provide recommendations on test documentation.
• Develop test plans and procedures aligned with requirements.
• Collect data and train operators and data collectors.
• Review data collection forms and logs for accuracy.
• Review Test Incident Reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Support analysis of user requirements and assist in test plan design.
• Collaborate with testing groups on issues and topics.
• Communicate upgrades, downtimes, and system changes timely.
• Report bugs and escalate issues as needed.
• Perform technical reviews and ensure adherence to quality processes.
