Job summary

Groundswell, a premier technology integrator serving federal agencies, seeks an Appian Business Analyst to join our team. You will partner with Appian product teams and client stakeholders to gather requirements for Appian applications and translate them into user stories and acceptance criteria.

Responsibilities include MVP definition, discovery workshops, data modeling, process reengineering, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and collaboration with architects and Dev Managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience performing business analysis and refining requirements for information systems.
• Strong communication skills at all levels; detail oriented with multiple products.
• Experience with use cases, Agile user stories, and process modeling.
• Remote work with ability to work East Coast hours; Active Secret Clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Support MVP definition and release planning with Product Dev Managers.
• Conduct requirement discovery, data modeling, process design, and UI design.
• Lead discovery workshops with customer stakeholders to collect requirements.
• Collaborate with architects and Dev Managers to define enhancements.
• Prioritize features within the product roadmap with the team.
• Deliver and maintain user engagement analytics and case studies.
• Write user stories with acceptance criteria for developers and QA.
• Refine requirements based on engagements, demos, and feedback.
• Estimate user stories and conduct formal review/acceptance.
• Identify risks and opportunities for process improvement.
• Design complex data models based on requirements; use Jira, TFS, GitHub for PM tasks.
