Responsible for managing reporting APPs and APP supervisors, including activities related to patient care, service line development, quality improvement, strategic planning, and policy enforcement, ensuring APP clinical work aligns with the scope or Hospital Playbook. Assesses staffing effectiveness, experience, skill mix, and develops responsive staffing systems. Mentors, coaches, and handles administrative duties such as hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and OPPE/FPPE. Represents APPs to outside review agencies like the Joint Commission and American College of Surgeons.
The position is typically 50% administrative and 50% clinical, or as determined by the APP Director or VP of APP Services.
Note: This is a 40-hour position, which may include off-shift hours, weekends, and holidays as required. The role provides leadership within the specialty service(s) with potential expansion based on organizational needs.
