Job Summary
Responsible for managing reporting APPs and APP supervisors, including activities related to patient care, service line development, quality improvement, strategic planning, protocol or policy enforcement, and APP clinical work within scope or adherence to the Hospital Playbook. Assesses staffing effectiveness, experience, skill mix, and develops staffing systems responsive to patient volume and acuity. Mentors, coaches, and manages administrative duties such as hiring, onboarding, orientation, performance evaluations, OPPE/FPPE, etc. Represents APPs to external review agencies like the Joint Commission and American College of Surgeons.
The position is typically 50% administrative and 50% clinical, as determined by the APP Director or VP of APP Services.
Note: This is a 40-hour position, which may include off-shifts, weekends, and holidays. The role provides leadership within the specialty service(s) with potential expansion to other APP teams based on organizational needs.
