Apheresis Process Support Technician

Job summary

CSL is seeking a dedicated donor center professional to support pheresis procedures in a Texas-based center. Responsibilities include preparing donors, equipment, and the pheresis machine, monitoring during the procedure, and disconnecting the donor on completion.

Candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 months of related experience; basic math skills are required and bilingual abilities may be needed depending on organizational needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at organization discretion.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process; respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain vigilance for donor reactions during or after pheresis; notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents and machine data using the PDA; link equipment to donors in the system.
• Alert supervisor to donor flow issues and ensure accurate donor data entry in the information system.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adhere to HSE and OSHA policies.
