Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three months’ work experience in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any reactions during or after the pheresis process and notify appropriate staff.
• Record incidents during the pheresis process using PDA, including machine alerts, alarms, and donor events.
• Link equipment and supplies used in the pheresis process to the appropriate donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the donor information management system.
