Job summary

Waterton is seeking a Waterton Helper A Janitor to maintain the community and equipment in our Chicago property. You will complete unit make-readies, perform preventative maintenance, and respond to service requests while keeping common areas clean and safe.

You will work in a union environment with healthcare, retirement, and related benefits provided through the union partnership. EPA-CFC and EPA-LBP certifications are strongly preferred for this property.

Qualifications

• Team player with ability to multi-task.
• Experience in building maintenance or skilled trades.
• EPA-CFC certification preferred; EPA-LBP certification required for older properties.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests and repairs in a professional and timely manner.
• Conduct preventive maintenance as scheduled, while maintaining accurate records.
• Prepare apartments for occupancy by effectively completing the make-ready process (move-out/in inspections, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, appliance repairs, carpet cleaning, painting).
• Assist in maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the community by ensuring grounds, amenities, exteriors, and common areas are free from debris.
• Utilize safety measures to maintain a safe work environment.
