Job summary

Southern Management Companies is seeking an Apartment Maintenance Service Technician (M3) in Silver Spring, MD. This full-time role focuses on diagnosing problems and performing repairs to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and related systems to meet company standards and laws.

You will address service requests, maintain inventories, and participate in on-call rotations while ensuring safety, accuracy, and quality in all tasks.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in maintenance related field(s).
• Successful completion of Basic Electric class offered at SMC internal training facility.
• Successful completion of all other basic maintenance classes offered internally and all on-the-job training within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Address, follow up and document service requests.
• Maintain an inventory of adequate supplies.
• Perform preventive maintenance on fan coil and convector HVAC unit.
• Complete additional preventive maintenance inspections as scheduled.
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.
• Make repairs to grounds and drainage.
• Ensure all work and documentation comply with internal quality control standards.
• Maintain personal supply of tools as designated by SMC's Tool Checklist.
