Job summary

Southern Management Co. in Hillcrest Heights, MD seeks an Apartment Maintenance Service Technician (M3) for a full-time role. You will diagnose problems, perform repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, masonry and appliances to keep the community assets in top condition.

You will follow safety standards, maintain accurate records, manage tools, participate in on-call rotations and contribute to resident satisfaction through proactive service.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in maintenance related field(s).
• Successful completion of Basic Electric class offered at SMC internal training facility.
• Successful completion of all other basic maintenance classes offered internally and all on-the-job training within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and perform repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and related trades.
• Address service requests, document work orders, and maintain logs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.
• Maintain tool inventory and ensure safety standards.
• Address emergency maintenance as needed.
• Contribute to community engagement and quality control.
