International Development Group is seeking a Regional Trade & Marketing Lead to support the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) Marketing Consulting Services in Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific. The role is remote, with travel within Asia and to Virginia as required, and focuses on generating export sales for Virginia companies.

You will build buyer relationships, coordinate trade promotion activities, and deliver regular market intelligence and performance reporting

Competenze

• 8+ years of experience in agricultural commodities, food, beverage, seafood and aquaculture products, and/or forest products trade in Asia.
• Demonstrated track record of generating export sales or closing trade deals.
• Active network of food and agribusiness buyers, importers, and distributors in at least three Target Markets.
• Hand-on experience organizing trade show participation, trade missions, and/or B2B matchmaking programs.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in at least one regional language (Thai, Vietnamese, Bahasa Indonesia/Malay, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin).
• Based in SEA or APAC; ability to travel frequently within the region and periodically to the United States.

• Identify, qualify, and maintain relationships with importers, distributors, retailers, foodservice operators, and buyers across the Target Markets.
• Arrange buyer meetings for Virginia companies during inbound and outbound trade missions.
• Coordinate trade promotion activities: regional trade shows, outbound/inbound missions, and promotional campaigns.
• Develop and implement promotional activities: in-store promotions, retail and foodservice campaigns, digital marketing.
• Deliver monthly market intelligence reports with actionable recommendations.
• Submit weekly activity reports and track progress against program targets.
