Job summary

The Bachrach Group is seeking an AP Trade Finance Analyst to own Accounts Payable operations within a fast-paced commodity trading environment in Houston, TX. You will oversee invoice processing, payments, vendor relationships, and month-end close, collaborating with Commercial, Operations, Treasury, and Accounting teams.

Responsibilities include managing high-volume AP, vendor onboarding, payments, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations, while ensuring strong internal controls and timely

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of progressive Accounts Payable or accounting experience with direct ownership of AP and month-end close.
  • Experience with high-volume invoice processing, vendor reconciliations, vendor onboarding, ACH/wire payments, and payment approvals.
  • Knowledge of accruals, invoice cutoffs, unbilled liabilities, expense recognition, and Balance Sheet reconciliations.

Responsibilities

  • Own high-volume AP processing for invoices across SG&A, freight, and services.
  • Manage vendor onboarding, statement reconciliations, ACH/wire payments, and payment approvals.
  • Process invoices and payments accurately while identifying discrepancies, duplicates, coding issues, and missing approvals.
  • Own month-end AP activities, including accruals, invoice cutoffs, unbilled liabilities, and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure timely invoice approvals and payments.
  • Support AP activity related to freight, logistics, terminals, warehousing, and commodity trading operations.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and exercise sound judgment when reviewing transactions and payment requests.
  • Proactively follow up, elevate issues, and resolve problems independently.
  • Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors and cross-functional teams through professional, responsive communication.

Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with high-volume invoice processing, vendor reconciliations, vendor onboarding, ACH/wire payments, and payment approvals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accruals, invoice cutoffs, unbilled liabilities, expense recognition, and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Commodity trading, energy, freight, logistics, or related industry experience preferred, including exposure to ocean, barge, rail, trucking, terminals, stevedores, customs, or warehousing.
  • Experience with Dynamics, RightAngle, Allegro, Endur, ETRM/CTRM platforms, and advanced Excel preferred.
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, judgment, organization, and ability to independently prioritize, follow through, and resolve issues.
