AP Dispute Analyst

Location: Fully Remote | Must reside in MA, CT, or RI

Compensation: $27–$30/hour

Schedule: Remote with approximately 1 day per month in Middletown, CT

Creative Financial Staffing (CFS) is partnering with a stable, growing organization to identify an AP Dispute Analyst to join its accounting team. This is a unique opportunity for an AP professional who enjoys research, problem-solving, and investigation more than traditional invoice processing.

Think of this position as "collections against vendors rather than customers." The AP Dispute Analyst will investigate discrepancies, build supporting documentation, work with vendors to resolve issues, and pursue credits and funds owed back to the organization.

Why This Opportunity?
  • Fully remote position for candidates residing in Massachusetts, Connecticut, or Rhode Island
  • Only approximately one office day per month in Middletown, CT
  • ZERO overtime with a manager who prioritizes team culture and work-life balance
  • Join a collaborative 8-person team with excellent employee retention
  • Opportunity to help own and build a newly created function
  • Heavy focus on automation, innovation, and AI-driven process improvements
  • High-visibility position where your work directly impacts the organization
  • Fun, team-focused culture with company outings and events
  • Stable and growing organization with an excellent benefits package
AP Dispute Analyst Responsibilities

  • Compile supporting documentation and evidence for vendor disputes
  • Work directly with vendors to pursue credits and recover funds owed
  • Track disputes from initial identification through final resolution
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow up on outstanding items
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce recurring discrepancies
  • Leverage automation and technology to create efficiencies within the dispute process
AP Dispute Analyst Qualifications
  • Previous experience in Accounts Payable, vendor management, purchasing, procurement, accounting, or a related function
  • Strong understanding of invoices, purchase orders, and three-way matching
  • Excellent research and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and independently investigate the underlying cause
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Comfortable communicating with vendors and internal business partners
  • Ability to manage multiple open disputes and follow them through to resolution
  • Strong Excel and overall systems skills
  • Experience within distribution, manufacturing, inventory, or a related environment is a plus
  • Must reside in MA, CT, or RI and be able to travel to Middletown, CT approximately once per month
Comprehensive Benefits
  • Medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage
  • Paid parental leave
  • Telemedicine services
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Company-paid life insurance and AD&D
  • Supplemental life insurance options
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Additional voluntary benefits, including identity theft protection

This AP Dispute Analyst position is ideal for someone who looks at a mismatched invoice and immediately wants to figure out why it doesn't match. Rather than simply processing transactions, you'll investigate issues, communicate with vendors, recover money, and help improve the processes that created the problem in the first place.

If you're an analytical AP professional who enjoys digging into discrepancies and wants a remote position with strong work-life balance, no overtime, and the opportunity to make an impact, this could be an excellent next step.
